Top Hair and Beauty Moments from This Year’s Oscars!
The Oscars – Hollywood’s most glamorous night of the year – never fails to deliver unforgettable beauty moments. This year, stars like Doja Cat and Selena Gomez graced the red carpet, making bold statements with their hair and makeup looks and giving us all the red carpet inspiration we could dream of. From nods to vintage styles to embracing natural textures, here’s a rundown of some of our favourite hair and beauty moments from the 2025 Academy Awards!
Natural Curls for Doja Cat
Doja Cat has always been known for her experimental style, especially when it comes to wigs and hairpieces. But for this year’s Oscars, she decided to embrace her natural hair. In a Vogue YouTube interview, the singer shared her love for playing with her curls and how versatile they can be.
Inspired by the legendary Grace Jones, Doja opted for a middle parting that gave her natural curls a softer, more refined look. Her show-stopping gold Balmain gown at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, which took almost 3,500 hours to embroider, was the perfect complement to her hair. The delicate sheer pink nails by Saccia Livingston added a subtle, elegant touch to the entire ensemble.
Delicate Doll Style for Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s "method dressing" style continues to impress, especially with the upcoming release of Wicked Part 2. This year at the Oscars, Ariana wowed in a pearlescent pink Schiaparelli gown, beautifully complemented by her strawberry blonde hair. Ariana’s look was beautifully monochromatic, with her makeup and shimmering body lotion enhancing the soft glow of her skin, giving her a delicate, almost doll-like vibe.
The Eternal Beauty of the Pixie Cut
Pixie cuts made a strong statement on the Oscars red carpet this year, with two stunning takes on this timeless style. Supermodel Anok Yai turned heads with her sleek jet-black pixie, styled by Ursula Stephen. Paired with bold makeup by Keita Moore, Anok's pixie was a highlight of the evening.
Emma Stone also stunned with her own pixie cut, which she debuted earlier at the Golden Globes. Styled by Mara Roszak, Emma’s vintage-inspired ‘S-wave’ gave her look a soft, refined finish. The warm tones of her hair, dubbed “Nutmeg Glow” by colourist Tracey Cunningham, added even more sophistication to the pixie cut.
Cynthia Erivo’s Stunning Nails
Cynthia Erivo’s attention to detail shone brightly this year, and her nails stole the show. In addition to wearing a custom Vivienne Westwood gown inspired by the designer’s 1997 Spring bridal collection, Cynthia’s nails were nothing short of extraordinary. Designed in collaboration with @clawzbydior, her nails were inspired by a treasure box from The Wizard of Oz, with intricate gold and emerald designs that perfectly complemented her red carpet ensemble.
Bridal Inspiration at the Oscars
Given the magical atmosphere of the night, it’s no surprise that several stars gave us major bridal inspiration. Selena Gomez, who recently got engaged, exuded bridal elegance in a custom Ralph Lauren gown featuring 16,000 glass droplets and Rosemont crystals. The dress, which took over 12 hours to airbrush, achieved a stunning soft pink ombre effect.
Selena’s soft glam makeup by Hung Vanngo included warm brown eyeshadow, fluttering lashes, rosy-toned blush, and a pink nude lip – the epitome of romantic beauty. Hairstylist Renato Campora gave Selena a soft blowout with just the right amount of volume at the crown, completing the look of a future bride.
Another bridal-worthy moment came courtesy of model Kaia Gerber, who stunned with soft 60s-inspired waves, created by hairstylist Hos Hounkpatin. The middle part and soft, blown-out waves, paired with her Valentino dress and cape from 1997, gave Kaia a timeless yet modern look. Her makeup by Jamal Scott, featuring warm, creamy tones and soft 60s-style black eyeliner, completed the chic, bridal-inspired vibe.
Who Was Your Favourite?
The Oscars always bring the glam, and this year’s red carpet certainly did not disappoint. Whether you loved Doja Cat’s natural curls or Selena Gomez’s soft, romantic bridal vibes, one thing was clear: beauty and elegance were on full display.
