Frog Skin Nails Guide by Salon System expert Karen Louise
Salon System nail expert Karen Louise has created a frog print inspired step by step using GELLUX.
Step One
Prepare the nails, file to shape, push back cuticle and gently buff the nail plate. Brush away any dust and wipe over with the GELLUX Prep + Wipe (£7.15+VAT).
Apply the GELLUX Fast Bond (£5.85+VAT) to nails and let dry. Then apply a thin coat of GELLUX Cover Pink Base Coat (£11.95+VAT) to the nails and cure.
Step Two
Next use GELLUX Live & Loud (£11.95+VAT) paint half the nail from the cuticle to the center, don’t cure. Then apply GELLUX Mud & Music (£11.95+VAT) to the rest of the nail. Using a striping brush blend the two colours together in a swiping motion from left to right to create an ombre effect, then cure. Apply GELLUX Matte Base/Top Coat (£11.95+VAT) and cure. Then wipe nails with GELLUX Prep + Wipe (£7.15+VAT).
Step Three
Use a small amount of GELLUX Orange Fever (£11.95+VAT) on a palette, then with a dotting tool drizzle the colour around the nail to create your design. Make this wide enough to apply the black over the top but still have the orange outline, then cure.
Step Four
Then go over the nails using the GELLUX Black Onyx (£11.95+VAT), trying to stay inside the orange pattern.
Step Five
Finally, apply the GELLUX Shiny Top Coat (£11.95+VAT) over the design but make sure you still have the matte effect base as this adds more depth and shine to your design, cure for 60 seconds. Next wipe the nails with GELLUX Prep + Wipe (£7.15+VAT) and apply GELLUX Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 + VAT).
