More for men

Simon Shaw, European Artistic Director for Wahl:
On defining your own aesthetic
Have good equipment, create strong shapes and use strong lines. Any style can work if you work from that.
On the cut that every barber should have in his arsenal>
Every barber should be open-minded and use everything in their arsenal. Being able to handle their clippers around a fade does help!
Chris Foster, Creative Director at The Refinery and Harrods Barbershop and owner at FOSS Academy:
On the look for 2016
The fade continues to be a massive trend; it is the quintessential masculine look to have the hair shorter on the back and sides and longer on the top. The fade adds a new dimension. There are different types of fades; the skin fade, the drop fade, the temple fade and the high and tight military fade. After this trend I can definitely see men's hair getting longer through the back and sides and moving towards a more retrospective ‘90s feel.
Ky’Cut Wilson, Freelance Hairstylist:
On the men in the public eye that male customers are influenced by
David Beckham is a big contender for influencing the male population of what hair trends to follow. A big favourite of mine is Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys, with his rockabilly vibe. Most of my clients find their own inspiration on social media platforms. It's up to us as barbers to advise and set our own trends.
