'COLOUR THE CUT' BRIEF AND RULES

 

COMPETITION BRIEF


1. To enter the competition - create a Colour on a haircut that includes a colour technique.


2. Take before and after photos - clearly showing the look.


3. Post the before and after photos on an lnstagram post or reel.


4. Hashtag #wellaXcapital_colourthecut24.


5. Tag @Wellaprofessionalsuki @capitalhairuk @(yourcollegeortrainingprovider).


6. Opening date for entries - 3rd June.


7. Closing date - 1st July @ 5pm.

 

ABOUT THE ENTRY


1. TO ENTER the competition - upload to lnstagram either a reel demonstrating the before and after transformation or post two images (before and after) together with the Colour the Cut hashtag (see below for hashtags) and competition hashtag. For your entry to be valid the lnstagram reel/post must be posted between Monday 3rd June and 5pm Monday 1st Entries received after this date cannot be accepted.

 

2. The 'Colour the Cut' category is where the focus is on the creative use of colour placement/technique suitability to the hairstyle/cut. This category allows the student to showcase their understanding and talent with hair colour, with a focus on maintaining hair quality and condition.

NB Extensions - the models or head blocks own hair is the basic working material. Hair extensions may NOT be used. The use of hair pieces or hair extensions will lead to disqualification of the entrant from the competition.

 

3. Tags must be in the caption (not in the comments).

 

4. The hashtags are as follows -

  • #wellaxcapital _colour the cut24.
  • @wellaprofessionaluki.
  • @capitalhairuk.
  • Also, hashtag your college/training provider.

 

5. If the competitor applies for the competition under their college/training academy lnstagram account, the caption of the post must include the name of the competitor, for example, Hair by (name of competitor), to differentiate between multiple people applying for the same college/training academy.

 

6. If posting via a college/training academy lnstagram account and it is not clearly stated in the caption the name of the competitor the entry will be invalid.

 

7. Your college/training provider will be contacted when you enter to gain confirmation of consent to take part in the competition.

 

8. lnstagram accounts need to be public for the photographic entry to be included.

 

9. The photo used for the photographic entry:

  • Does not have to be professionally shot or taken specifically for the competition
  • Should not be older than 12 months
  • Can have been previously published

 

10. Photos taken on a phone are totally acceptable and care must be taken to submit the best possible quality of photograph. All phots either professionally shot or taken on mobile phone will be judged equally.

 

11. Overuse of photoshop will result in disqualification.

 

12. By entering the competition and posting their photographic entry the competitor agrees and assigns their intellectual property rights to Wella Company and Capital (hair and beauty) LTD.

 

13. If any persons appearing in any photograph is under the age of the majority (age majority for UK and Ireland is 18yrs old) in their country of residence, the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on release.

 

14. Please note that the competitor does not have to use Wella Professionals products on their photographic entry.

 

15. The entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals for Wella Company and Capital Hair and Beauty ltd, the judge's decision is No correspondence will be entered into. Competitors and college/training academies have no right to legal recourse.

 

16. The winning applicant will be announced by the end of July 2024 latest.

 

ABOUT THE PRIZE


1. The WellaXcapital TVA competition winner will receive a prize which includes:

  • Attendance for winner+ lecturer to Wella TrendVision Awards 2024 - on Monday 7th October@ Old Billingsgate, London which will include - Hair Shows from top industry icons - Dinner-Awards - Dancing.
  • Accommodation for winner+ lecturer on Monday evening 7th October.
  • 'Behind the Scenes' backstage tour of Trendvision Awards.
  • Travel expenses to the value of £250.

2. If the student who wins the prize is under the age of 18 years old, they will need to have a chaperone over the age 18years who will share the hotel room with them (the chaperone will not attend the evening awards event).


3. Travel expenses and hotel for the chaperone will be paid - with travel expenses up to £250 each.

 

ABOUT THE COMPETITION


1. This is a competition in association with Wella Company and Capital Hair and Beauty LTD.


2. There is no age limit.


3. Competitors from UK and Ireland must be studying at their college/private training academy at the time of entering the competition (the current academic year Sept 2023 - June 2024) for at least one day a week and for the duration of the competition, for their NVQ level 2 or 3 , VRQ Level 2 or 3, National certificate or National Qualification level 2 or QQI Level 5 or 6.


4. Competitors must have no more than 5 years hairdressing experience.


5. Competitors can submit more than one entry.


6. Competitors must gain consent from the model whose photograph they are using to enter Wella X Capital competition for their images to be used in the competition. Entry implies acceptance of these rules.


7. The competitor must be totally responsible for all elements contributing to the colour, cut, finish and style of the hair.


8. Head Blocks can be used.


9. The competition comprises of one stage - Photographic entry.


10. Entry into the competition is free.

ABOUT THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION


1. Competitors must gain consent from the college/training academy that they are representing to take part in WellaXCapital TVA competition 2024


2. A training provider is a registered training organisation who supplies the training element of an apprenticeship. This is a separate organisation from the salon the entrant is employed. Registration documents may be required for proof.


3. The college or training academy that appears in the lnstagram entry will be the college or private training academy that will attend the event with the Should the competitor leave their place of education/training (i.e., move to a different college or private training academy) during the competition, they will lose their right to attend the awards. In case of the student withdrawal of attending the awards the college or private training academy will also lose the right to attend the awards
