Hensmans' Autumn/Winter collection

Hensmans autumn winter collection Autumn’s well and truly here, and this week, we were inspired by this gorgeous collection from Hensmans, so we asked director, Gemma Hensman, to break down their AW influences.

What was the inspiration behind this collection?

This collection was inspired by the colour and fabric of the clothing that I saw in the Alexander McQueen exhibition. Seeing the beauty and detail that went into his collections inspired me to create something equally as beautiful with hair.

Tell us about the colour processes involved, particularly those two amazing reds!

The colour process involved a lot of colour layering. The reds were finished with a high shine gloss to create a real colour pop to the image and the pastels were weaved in to give a soft muted interest to the blondes.

What were the products that you found yourself relying on the most for this collection?

All the products came from the Schwarzkopf OSIS+ and BC range – the BC Volume Boost Perfect Foam was particularly important for layering in the hair for preparation.

What are your AW colour predictions?

Autumn/Winter trends will take on a warmer aspect, as they often do this time of year, with copper and honey tones making a big comeback. The biggest trend people will be asking for is bespoke rose gold blondes, which will be tailored to each individual, as well as dark burnished red/browns with lots of texture.
